INSTRUCTION

Mix the flour, beetroot juice (carrot juice for the other dough), salt, and enough water to knead a fairly firm dough.

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest for half an hour.

Meanwhile, prepare the filling.

Mix tofu, shrimp, ginger, garlic, spring onions, coriander, salt and pepper.

Now divide the dough into two parts, dust it with flour, then roll it into thin sheets with the help of a cookie cutter.

Fill the cut round dough with the filling and fold it neatly.

Once all the dumplings are folded, place them in the steamer and steam for about 12-15 minutes.

Serve with soy sauce, chili sauce, or other Asian sauce.

Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS FOR THE DOUGH: The ingredients I use to make these Dumplings are simple. The outer wrapper only consists of four ingredients such as whole wheat flour, salt, and beetroot & carrot juice for coloring.

DOUGH: To make the dough, I use a cup of all-purpose flour, 1/4 tsp beetroot powder, salt to taste, and enough room temperature water to knead a fairly firm dough. After kneading, I let it rest for an hour. I like to wrap the dough in plastic wrap until I’m ready to roll it out.

HOW TO SERVE THE DUMPLINGS: I like to serve these dumplings with soy sauce and a little hot sauce. You can also serve them with sweet chili sauce, scallion sauce, chili oil, hot sauce, or any other sauce of your choice.

ABOUT DUMPLING: The famous dumpling is loved all over the world. In Asian cuisine, a dumpling is a thin layer of dough filled with a filling. Although the most popular dumplings are savory, they can also be made sweet. Once filled and folded neatly, the dumpling can be boiled, steamed, or deep-fried until cooked. Typically dumpling dough is made from three simple ingredients: flour, water, and salt. However, there are many other types of dumplings made using Tapioca Flour, Whole Wheat Flour, Semolina, etc. It is one of the most versatile dishes that can be made using a variety of flours and filled with countless fillings.
